Answers:

1. What is a beneficiary?
A beneficiary is a nominated person that receives the benefits (of the product) when the life assured passes away. The applicant can nominate anybody as a beneficiary. This can be changed at any time by the applicant/policy holder. Remember the beneficiary DOES NOT have cover.
Keep in mind that when nominating a beneficiary that it would be advisable for the beneficiary to have a bank account and to be 18 years of age or older.

2. What is a premium?
The monthly amount payable by the premium payer. (In advance)

3. Who is the premium payer?
The person whom pays the monthly premium.

• He must have an active bank account.
• He must earn more than R1200.00 p/m.

4. How do I become a member of Zisekele?
Phone 086188 00 00 and one of our friendly call centre agents will assist you.

5. Is it safe to join via the call centre?
Yes absolutely. All calls are recorded for quality and security purposes. Zisekele is registered at the Financial Services Board and you are protected by the Ombudsman.

6. Where is Zisekele’s offices situated?

7. What is natural causes of death?
Death resulting from any illness or old age.

8. What is unnatural causes of death?
Death resulting from an accident.

9. Do you ask any medical questions or do any medical tests?
No. Zisekele does not ask any medical questions on any of our products. Zisekele will accept your risk irrespective of you medical condition or history

10. How long is the waiting period?

Main member, extended family members and children has a six (6) months waiting period. In the case of death due to natural causes, cover or any increase in cover has a waiting period of six (6) months. (Please note that even if six (6) premiums had been received, 6 months might not be over). No waiting period for unnatural causes of death provided premium due was received.

11. Will I receive any proof that I am a member of Zisekele?
After your application have been processed and approved you will receive a welcome sms and a membership certificate.

12. What must I do when somebody who enjoys cover on a funeral policy pass away?
Call us on : 0861 88 00 00, we will assist you in submitting your claim.

13. What documents are needed when I submit a claim?
All of the following:
• Claimants form (available from our office or on our web site www.zisekele.co.za.
• A certified copy of the ID of the deceased and the beneficiary.
• A BI1662 form from the doctor who declared the person dead.
• A certified death certificate
• A bank statement of the beneficiary, (must be on the letterhead of the bank)
• Funeral parlour confirmation letter (it must be from the funeral parlour who will do the funeral)
• If unnatural causes of death you must submit a police report.
• Marriage certificate if cover was taken for a spouse.

14. What happens if I skip a premium?
Zisekele will deduct a double premium the following month, if we do not receive the double premium your cover will stop. Remember to notify the office immediately when your bank details have changed. (0861 88 00 00) "No premium = no cover" and should premiums no be paid in terms of the policy, cover ceases and should the member wish to rejoin, they will be treated as a new entrant, with the commensurate waiting period.
